emdr intensives in Bend, Oregon

EMDR Intensives offer focused, accelerated trauma healing without the need to spend months in weekly therapy.

Ever feel like your session timer has bad timing? You’re opening up, doing brave, hard things… and then—beep—the hour’s over. EMDR Intensives let you skip the rushed endings and give your healing the time it actually deserves.

These extended sessions (typically 2 hours - 8 hours) allow you to dive deeply into the issues that feel most urgent—anxiety, past trauma, painful memories, or patterns that keep you stuck. Instead of stretching EMDR treatment over many appointments, intensives create the time and space to process more in a shorter period. This approach is ideal for clients who want meaningful relief, have busy schedules, or feel ready to commit to their healing in a powerful, structured way to quality and care.

EMDR Intensives in Bend, Oregon

What do EMDR Intensives Typically Look Like?

EMDR Intensives are a focused, personalized approach to trauma healing. Unlike weekly 60-minute sessions, intensives give you extended, uninterrupted time to process difficult memories, reduce emotional triggers, and build coping skills. The process is designed to meet you where you are—whether you’re addressing a single-event trauma or layers of complex, long-standing trauma.

Step 1: Introductory Session

  • Meet your therapist and discuss your goals

  • Identify memories or patterns to target

  • Learn grounding and stabilization techniques

  • Prepare your nervous system for EMDR

Step 2: Intensive Sessions (1–3 sessions, 2–8 hours each)

  • Deep, uninterrupted EMDR processing

  • Work through single-event or complex trauma

  • Breaks and support to stay regulated

  • Process multiple memories or layers of trauma efficiently

Step 3: Follow-Up Session

  • Reflect on progress and insights

  • Integrate changes into daily life

  • Review coping skills and next steps

  • Plan any additional therapy if needed

  • Sessions typically range from 2 to 8 hours, depending on your goals and what feels manageable. Some clients choose a single long session, while others spread it across multiple days.

  • Not necessarily. While some clients benefit from a few weekly sessions beforehand, intensives can also be tailored for those starting EMDR therapy for the first time. Your readiness and comfort guide the pace.

  • You’ll spend time building safety and grounding skills, identifying targets for EMDR processing, and then moving through the memories or patterns you want to address. Sessions include breaks, check-ins, and space for reflection so your nervous system stays regulated.
