Is Trauma Therapy Right For You?
You might not identify with the word trauma—and that’s okay. Many people come to therapy because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, even if they can’t point to a single “big” event.
You may notice things like:
Your body feels tense, on edge, or exhausted—like it never fully relaxes
Strong emotional reactions seem to come out of nowhere
You feel numb, shut down, or disconnected from yourself or others
You overthink, people-please, or feel responsible for everyone else’s emotions
Certain situations or relationships feel unsafe, even when you know you’re not in danger
You struggle to rest, slow down, or feel at ease
You feel shame or self-blame without fully understanding why
You keep repeating the same patterns, even when you know better
You may also identify with:
Growing up without consistent emotional support
Feeling responsible for others at a young age
Chronic stress, conflict, or instability
Experiences where your needs, emotions, or safety weren’t fully protected
I believe trauma-informed therapy begins with safety, compassion, honesty, and trust. My role, as your therapist, is to support you in healing at your own pace and reconnecting with a sense of calm and empowerment.
Trauma therapy offers a supportive, compassionate space to explore how past experiences may still be shaping your thoughts, emotions, relationships, or sense of safety today. Trauma can come from many sources, including childhood experiences, relational wounds, chronic stress, or single overwhelming events.
Together, we work gently and collaboratively to understand your nervous system responses, reduce emotional overwhelm, and soften patterns that may feel stuck or automatic. The goal is not to relive the past, but to help your body and mind feel safer in the present—so you can move forward with greater stability, self-trust, and peace over time.
Therapy focusing on trauma may be helpful if you experience anxiety, emotional numbness, hypervigilance, difficulty trusting others, or unhealthy coping behaviors. You don’t have to do this alone, and I am here to help and support you!
