What is Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy?
EMDR therapy supports healing beyond talk therapy, helping clients move forward with greater ease, clarity, and relief while feeling more grounded, empowered, and connected to themselves.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain process traumatic or distressing experiences that have not been fully resolved. When trauma remains unprocessed, it can continue to impact how you think, feel, and react—often outside of your conscious control in subtle or overwhelming ways over time.
EMDR therapy helps reduce the emotional intensity of past memories and the negative beliefs connected to them. Many clients find that working with an EMDR therapist allows them to feel relief and clarity without having to talk in detail about every aspect of their trauma or repeatedly relive painful events in sessions.
EMDR can be effective for trauma, anxiety, negative self-beliefs, and experiences that feel “stuck” or repeatedly triggered. Sessions are paced carefully and grounded in safety, consent, and collaboration, allowing your system to move toward healing at a manageable pace that feels supportive.

EMDR Intensives:
EMDR Intensives are longer, focused sessions that allow for deeper trauma processing in fewer appointments. This option may be a good fit if weekly therapy feels too slow, disruptive, or hard to schedule. EMDR Intensives provide a more intentional way to process trauma through extended sessions that prioritize safety, pacing, and nervous system support.

How EMDR Therapy Works
EMDR therapy supports your brain’s natural ability to heal from painful experiences.
Together we identify memories, triggers, or emotions that are contributing to how you feel today.
During sessions, you focus on those experiences while engaging in calming bilateral stimulation (eye movement, tapping, audio).
This process helps the nervous system safely re-organize and store memories in a healthier way.
As memories are reprocessed, they begin to lose their emotional charge and power.
Many people notice fewer reactions to triggers and a greater sense of calm between sessions.
EMDR moves at a pace that feels manageable, with grounding and support built in.
The result is deeper, lasting relief—so you can feel more present, confident, and in control of your life.
