Does this sound like you?
You may be wondering whether what you’re experiencing is mental health, substance use, or something in between. Many people don’t fit neatly into one box—and that doesn’t mean anything is wrong with you.
Anxiety, depression, mood swings, or intrusive thoughts that feel hard to manage on their own
Using substances to calm your mind, sleep, feel more like yourself, or get relief from emotional overwhelm
Feeling temporarily better after using—then more anxious, low, or disconnected afterward
Wanting to cut back or stop, but finding it harder than expected
Feeling stuck in a cycle where mental health symptoms and substance use seem to feed into each other
Feeling shame, confusion, or self-judgment about how you cope
Being sober or reducing use, yet still not feeling regulated or emotionally well
Wondering which came first—or if that question even matters
Treating Mental Health & Substance Use Together
Healing is not about perfection—it’s about building awareness, flexibility, and healthier ways of coping. I support clients in creating change that feels realistic and meaningful.
Dual diagnosis therapy supports individuals experiencing mental health concerns alongside substance use or addiction, recognizing that these challenges rarely exist in isolation. Anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use often interact in complex and reinforcing ways—each influencing the other and shaping how you cope, relate, and move through daily life.
Rather than treating these concerns separately, dual diagnosis therapy addresses the full picture of your experience. We explore how substances may function as coping strategies for emotional pain, stress, or trauma, while also working to heal the underlying factors that drive those patterns. This integrated approach allows space for curiosity and understanding, not blame or pressure.
The work is nonjudgmental, collaborative, and tailored to your needs, focusing on harm reduction, self-awareness, and sustainable change. Therapy supports both emotional healing and the development of healthier coping skills, helping you build stability, resilience, and a sense of choice that aligns with your values and long-term goals.
